Surprisingly, the water in this alpine lake remains hot or warm throughout the year. Along with Gosainkunda, other large lakes like Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, Nagkunda, and Surajkunda make up the famous Gosainkunda Lake System. Our trek begins after a 7-hour drive from Kathmandu to Dunche. We pass through oak forests to Deurali, then Dhimsa, and finally reach Shing Gompa at 3,200m. Continuing to Chalangpati at 3,650m, we are treated to stunning views of Mt. Langtang Lirung. The journey progresses to Laurebina Yak at 3,900m before reaching Gosainkunda at 4,380m. Along the way, we witness the breathtaking Nag Kunda and Bhairab Kunda. At Gosainkunda, we can admire the majestic mountains surrounding the serene blue lake. After enjoying these moments, we retrace our steps back to Dunche and return to Kathmandu.

Thousands of pilgrims and backpackers venture to Gosainkunda annually, each with their own unique purpose.
