Today in the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel for a drive to Pokhara on a private tourist bus. It's an approximately 200-kilometer journey that takes you westward on the Prithvi Highway, utilizing about 7-8 hours, depending on the traffic conditions. Along the highway, you can observe the deep gorges of the Trishuli River and the greenish water flowing through it. The river Trishuli is also renowned for whitewater rafting. Also, you can observe alluring landscapes, rural residential areas, and green agricultural lands with snow-capped peaks comprising Annapurna, Manaslu ranges, Ganesh Himal, and Lamjung Himal as the backdrop.

Or you can take a 30-minute domestic flight from Tribhuvan International Airport to Pokhara Airport (with an additional cost of $100 per person). The flight minutes are delightful, as the sights of Himalayan peaks are spell-binding from up above the endless blue sky. Once you arrive in Pokhara, aka “the city of lakes," you can enjoy the rest of the day by exploring the local markets, especially the lakeside region of the lake city. Also, you can take pleasure in watching the charming outlook of Annapurna Massif and Mt. Machhapuchhre.

It takes approximately 1.5 hours to reach Sayuli Bazar via Nayapul and Birethati (the permit checkpoint). So, after having some breakfast, we now head to Pokhara in a private vehicle. Located on the banks of Modi Khola, Sayuli Bazaar is the starting point of the trek to Annapurna Base Camp. From here, we will now walk for about 3 hours forward to Ghandruk village (1800m). We’ll then move across the bridge and trek through lovely green paddy fields, where we can smell the unique aroma in the cool breeze throughout this stretch of trail.  Finally, we arrive at frugal Ghandruk Village (1,800 m), where we can enjoy the panorama of the Annapurna ranges. Stay overnight at the guest house.

Leaving Ghandruk, we continue on the trail that proceeds with the downward climb to the Kumrung river Valley and ascends abruptly to the Durbin Danda, then heading to Chhomrung. We now mount to the village of Chhomrung (2,210 m), which is also the final permanent human outpost in the region. We continue to pursue the trail that descends to the set of stone steps that lead to the Chhomrung Khola and then ascend to Sinuwa (2340m). We stay overnight in Sinuwa.

After breakfast, we move through terraces and the forest, which comprises chiefly rhododendron vegetation, to Kuldi (2,470 m), and finally, we set foot in the Upper Modi Khola Valley. This belt of the trail is narrow and leads to the bamboo (2,310m). At this elevation, it is usual to spot snow during the winter. The Bamboo Village consists of a few lodges that are operational only during the soaring tourist season. We leave for Deurali after lunch from the Dovan Village. We ascend a gentle climb leading us to Dovan (2,600m). From here, we trek along the Modi Khola through the dense forest, embodying bamboo and rhododendron as the primary vegetation. Subsequently, we arrive at Hotel Himalaya (2,920m) and ascend abruptly to Hinko Cave (3,170m) from where the trail drops closer to Modi Khola before climbing again upward to Deurali (3,200m). Stay overnight at the Guest House in Deurali.

From Deurali, the trail becomes narrow and strenuous to trek on. After 2-3 hours of the tiring trek, we ultimately arrive at Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) (3,700m). As climbing Mt. Machhapuchhre is not permitted due to religious reasons, MBC is not an actual base camp. Stop for hot tea or coffee here and then head onward to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m), the ultimate travel destination of our package. ABC is an adorable place that bestows an astonishing outlook of Mt. Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Gandharvachuli, and Hiunchuli. Enjoy the mesmerizing sunset views over Mt. Fishtail (6993m). Stay at the guest house.

Today, we leave Bamboo village and trek to Kuldi (2,470m). Pursuing the trail first, down to Sinuwa, and then to Lower Sinuwa through the forest of rhododendron, we now climb down the stone steps to Chhomrong (2,210m). Withdrawing back from Modi Khola Valley, we eventually trek downwards to Taklung village. From now on, we continue on the trail that descends to Jhinu Danda (1,500m). Enjoy the rest of the day at a natural hot spring.

From Jhinu Danda, we set off back to Pokhara in a private vehicle. Also, you can enjoy an evening walk or cycle around the alluring Lakeside region which is a tourist hotspot.   • Pokhara Accommodation: For your convenience and comfort, we have arranged two nights of complimentary accommodation at Pokhara Lakeside as part of our Annapurna base camp trek. Prior to embarking on the trek, you can relax and prepare yourself at Hotel Crystal Palace or a hotel of a similar category. After completing the trek, you can unwind and reflect on your journey during your stay at the same accommodation. We aim to provide you with a seamless and enjoyable experience throughout your adventure.
  • Mountain Accommodation: Embark on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, a remarkable journey lasting 11 nights and 12 days. Throughout this trek, you will have the chance to stay in remote areas, where we offer 6 nights of basic accommodation. Depending on the tourist flow, you may be required to share a room with fellow trekkers, although private rooms are available in certain locations. Each room will have more than 2 beds and will be furnished with a comfortable bed, shared bathroom facilities, and a cozy, warm blanket. Enjoy your stay at the colorful lodges or hotels along the way.

Tranportation of the ABC Trek Package:

For the Annapurna base camp trek, transportation to the trailhead and back to Kathmandu is required. The ABC Trek typically starts from Kathmandu after a flight or drive, and a drive to Naya Pul is also needed after Pokhara. While there are many transport options available, our package offers various choices for an excellent experience. All transfers within the Annapurna Base Camp Trek package are covered in our package. Please review the transportation options we offer in the package, and if you wish to make any changes, we can customize it accordingly.

  • Kathmandu Sighseeing: The renowned Annapurna Base Camp Trek provides a chance to immerse yourself in the wonders of the Kathmandu Valley. This journey not only allows you to appreciate the country's hidden treasures but also exposes you to its rich art, architecture, civilization, history, and culture. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to explore significant landmarks such as Pashupatinath, the most revered Hindu temple; Boudhanath, the largest stupa in the world; Swayambhunath, famously known as the Monkey Temple; and Patan Durbar. To ensure your convenience, a private vehicle will be at your disposal for transportation to and from these remarkable sites.
  • Kathmandu to Pokhara: The Annapurna Base Camp Trek commences in Pokhara, which is located 200km away from Kathmandu. To reach Pokhara from Kathmandu, our package includes tourist coach transportation. On the third day, you will be accompanied by our guide and porter as you travel to Pokhara in a tourist bus. During this journey, you will be able to travel by Tourisit bus until Pokhara, and from there, we will arrange a private car to take you to Naya Pul. If you prefer to avoid the 7/8-hour journey along the Bompy Road, there is an alternative flight option. However, please note that the flight comes at an additional cost of USD 100 per person each way. The flight duration is just 30 minutes, allowing you to enjoy breathtaking mountain views along the way.
  • Jhinu to Pokhara : The renowned Annapurna Base Trek concludes in Jhinu Danda, which hosts the natural hot spring. From Jhinu, we will provide a Jeep to conveniently travel to Pokhara by vehicle. The journey to Pokhara takes a mere 2 hours, leaving you with ample free time
  • Pokhara to Kathmandu: When it comes to traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you'll have two options at your disposal. The first option is a complimentary tourist bus, which offers a convenient and economical way to reach your destination. However, if you're looking for a more luxurious and time-efficient travel experience, you can choose to take a flight at an additional cost of USD 100 per person.

With reduced rainfall, travelers can enjoy sunny days that highlight the lush greenery at lower elevations and breathtaking landscapes. The weather is generally pleasant, featuring warm temperatures and stable conditions. This time of year provides a fantastic chance to marvel at the majestic Himalayan peaks and revel in the beauty of verdant valleys, including those carved by rivers. Due to the high influx of tourists, tea houses along the trail are often fully booked, so it is recommended to secure accommodations in advance. At times, congestion may be experienced along the route. If you are planning to undertake the Classical Annapurna Circuit Trek, make sure to plan ahead and secure a comfortable stay at the tea houses.
  • Spring Season (March to May): Embarking on the Annapurna Base Camp trek in the spring promises an unforgettable adventure. With extended daylight hours, favorable weather conditions, and comfortable temperatures, it sets the perfect stage for exploration. Throughout the journey, you will be captivated by the beauty of spring, from colorful flowers, especially in the Ghorepani Part from Ulleri to Tadapani, and the sweet songs of birds to lush green landscapes at lower levels and breathtaking mountain views as you climb to higher elevations.
  • Winter Season (December to February): The winter season, which includes December, January, and February, is generally not recommended for treks such as the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, but it is considerable. However, if you are lucky, you may come across favorable weather conditions. Despite the cold temperatures, you can still enjoy the journey with the right equipment and encounter fewer fellow travelers along the way. Typically, the weather during this season is unpredictable and prone to frequent changes. Snowfall, storms, and avalanches are common. Nevertheless, we provide an exceptional winter trekking experience, with only a few exceptions.
  • Monsoon season (June to August): It is advisable to avoid undertaking the Annapurna Base Camp Trek during the rainy months of June, July, and August. Nevertheless, if fortune favors you, there is still a possibility of having an incredible trekking experience. The rainfall can present difficulties, but with the right equipment, the trek can still be manageable. Occasionally, landslides, overcast weather, or heavy downpours can block the trail or disrupt transportation due to road closures caused by landslides. This can lead to limited visibility. However, if you are considering embarking on this journey during this season, we are pleased to offer our assistance.
